IKCO Envoy Sedan, Resembling Lada Vesta, Unveiled in Iran

This is a project by Iran Khodro and Bahman Motors

The new IKCO Envoy sedan, with a design noticeably echoing Lada Vesta, has been presented in Iran. Photos of the car have appeared online, and the project itself, according to local sources, is in the final stages of development. Iranian companies Iran Khodro and Bahman Motors are jointly working on the model.

Externally, the IKCO Envoy particularly resembles the Russian sedan in the design of the rear of the body. It is emphasized that AvtoVAZ has no relation to the project. It is possible that the novelty is based on the Chinese sedan Changan Alsvin, adapted to the requirements of the Iranian market.

According to preliminary information, the car will receive a hybrid power plant with a total output of 225 hp. It includes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 88 hp and an electric motor developing 137 hp. A CVT is declared as the transmission.

It is expected that the IKCO Envoy will become one of the new mass models for the domestic Iranian market. Additional technical details, as well as the timing of the start of sales, have not yet been disclosed.
