AvtoVAZ's new model, LADA Iskra, entered the top ten best-selling new passenger cars in Russia for the second consecutive month in January 2026, taking eighth place in the ranking.
According to Avtostat, 2,173 LADA Iskra family cars were sold in January. This allowed the model to outsell the Mazda CX-5 and Belgee X50 crossovers. In December 2025, Iskra sales amounted to 3,203 cars, thanks to which it entered the top 10 for the first time, taking tenth place.
Alexander Shaprinsky, Commercial Director of the Pragmatika dealer company, previously noted that LADA Iskra may soon enter the top five bestsellers in the market. According to him, the high demand is due to a combination of price and characteristics, as well as the absence of direct competitors in the segment.
LADA Iskra occupies an intermediate position between Granta and Vesta and is built on a deeply modernized CMF-B-LS platform. As AvtoVAZ stated, the model's design uses more than 1,000 new components, of which about 400 have undergone complete reengineering.
The Iskra sedan and station wagon are equipped with 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp. The Iskra SW Cross crossover station wagon is only available with a 106-horsepower engine. The model is produced in Togliatti in a full cycle, as well as at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg using the SKD assembly method.
