AvtoVAZ has launched an investigation into information about alleged mass cases of electronic control unit defects in LADA Largus cars following publications in Telegram channels, the company's press service reported.
AvtoVAZ's statement clarifies that it concerns reports mentioning "mass" problems with the electronic control unit, allegedly identified by LADA Largus owners, entrepreneurs with large fleets, as well as service centers and car repair specialists.
As a leading Russian automaker, we are interested in ensuring and improving the quality of our cars, so we have additionally requested <...> and are checking information from the service centers and fleets that have contacted us. At the same time, we can only consider official requests from car owners to official service centers: only there is the necessary diagnostic equipment and specialists with the necessary competencies.
The press service also reminded that since the resumption of production of the LADA Largus family at the plant in Izhevsk in 2024, more than 59,000 cars of this model have been sold in Russia.
The Izhevsk site produces the entire LADA Largus line, including five-seater and seven-seater station wagons, the Cross version, and commercial vans. The station wagon and van are offered in three trim levels with an 8-valve engine producing 90 hp or a 16-valve engine producing 106 hp. The Largus Cross is available in one version with a 106-hp engine. All versions are equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.
