Start-up and commissioning works have begun, production will start in April

The Sollers Group has begun start-up and commissioning works at a new automotive safety systems plant. The enterprise was created on a site that is part of the UAZ structure.

The plant plans to produce steering wheels, airbags and seat belts, and electronic control units. These components will be used in UAZ and Sollers vehicles.

The project envisages a high level of production localization. In particular, the company plans to master the casting of steering wheel frames from magnesium alloy, as well as the sewing of textile elements for airbags.

Serial production is scheduled to begin in April. Investments in the creation of the enterprise amounted to about 1.5 billion rubles. Of this amount, 1.2 billion rubles were provided by the Industrial Development Fund in the form of a concessional loan.
