New BelAZ tractor will be able to move Airbus A320, A220 and Boeing 737 airliners

BelAZ has completed factory tests of the new BelAZ-54011 airfield tractor. The company reported that the tests confirmed the reliability and efficiency of the machine. The model is designed to service the most common medium-range aircraft — Airbus A320, Airbus A220 and Boeing 737.

The tractor is designed to tow aircraft weighing from 50 to 150 tons. The machine can move aircraft both over short distances to passenger boarding bridges and over longer routes — to parking areas, maintenance or repair.

The operator's cab is spacious and ergonomic. It is equipped with a pneumatically adjustable seat, a four-camera video surveillance system, LED optics, climate control and additional sound insulation.

A special feature of the machine is the steering system with four modes: front wheel steering, rear wheel steering, synchronous mode and "crab" mode. This scheme increases maneuverability when working in hangars and on airport aprons.

The tractor's coupling weight can vary from 12 to 18 tons. This allows the machine to be adapted to various airfield pavement conditions, including wet or icy asphalt. In addition, the model complies with the requirements of the International Air Transport Association and is equipped with a fire extinguishing system.
