Mercedes-AMG Prepares New CLE 63 and G-Class Convertible

Both models will receive a V8 engine after the failure of the four-cylinder C 63

Mercedes-AMG is preparing a limited series of the CLE 63, with only about 30 cars to be produced. The model will receive a new V8 with a flat crankshaft producing up to 646 hp. This engine is already used in the current S-Class and may appear in other models, including the future C 63.

The launch of the CLE 63 comes after the abandonment of the four-cylinder scheme in the C 63. The new V8 is planned to be used more widely, including in future AMG versions and a possible GT Black Series.

Separately, the return of the G-Class Cabriolet has been confirmed. Production will start in 2027, and the model will receive a biturbo V8 and a fabric roof. The main market is North America, which is becoming a key growth area amid declining demand in China.
