A case with a former car owner has gone viral in the USA. After writing off the car due to an accident, he did not log out of his Tesla account. Some time later, he discovered in the application that the car was in Belarus, in the city of Grodno, while access to remote control and the Premium Connectivity function was maintained.
As it turned out, the car was resold and delivered to the new owner after customs clearance. According to Vitaly, a resident of Grodno and an acquaintance of the new owner, the car did not have the status of "total", and the situation arose due to the fact that the previous owner remained logged in to the system.
The reason for resolving the issue was the purchase of digital content for approximately $10 through the connected account. After that, the former owner logged out of the system.
I have already removed the car from my account. I only found out about this because MY account was used for a subscription that I did not consent to. Apart from canceling the subscription (which I found out after another subscription started - the new owner really wanted to listen to music), I did not remotely control anything.
The conflict was resolved without a dispute. The new owner apologized, and the former owner noted that he did not consider the situation a problem and was glad that the car continues to be used. He also clarified that he previously called the car Nova.
