Demand for leasing of passenger cars in Russia in February increased by 19–40%: the market was supported by lower rates and the expectation of new rules for taxis.
The growth was recorded by market participants interviewed by Kommersant. The main factors were cheaper financing and the desire of taxi fleets to update their car fleet before the entry into force of the law on localization.
At the same time, leasing companies expect a further increase in the number of transactions in the coming months. However, according to their estimates, the growth rate will be moderate.
Taxi fleets are still cautiously approaching the purchase of cars from the updated list for work in taxis. It recently included the Haval Jolion and Tenet T7 models; the appearance of these models may support demand, as taxi operators expected them to be included in the list of permitted ones.
