The Volga K40 crossover has begun certification in Belarus: the model has already received three certificates of conformity necessary for obtaining vehicle type approval (OTTS), which allows officially starting sales. The model is based on the Geely Atlas.
Earlier, the head of the Volga brand, Tatyana Fadeeva, announced plans to enter foreign markets. Belarus is being considered as one of the possible first destinations. At the same time, it is possible that the certification is formal — the process is delayed in the Russian Federation, and successful completion in Belarus automatically applies to all EAEU countries.
Prior to this, Volga received OTTS for the K50 model. According to the documents, the car is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 238 hp, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and an all-wheel drive system.
