Tesla has announced a recall for 173 units of the Tesla Cybertruck RWD version. The problem is the risk of wheel detachment while driving. The company identified cracks around the stud holes in the brake discs. Under stress (uneven surfaces, turns), this can lead to the destruction of the assembly and the detachment of the stud from the hub. Three warranty cases have been recorded; no accidents or injuries have been reported.
The recall affects vehicles manufactured from March 21, 2024, to November 25, 2025, but it primarily concerns a short production period of RWD models with 18″ wheels (late August – early November 2025). Versions with 20″ wheels are not part of the campaign.
The “disc—hub—studs” assembly is critical for safety: even localized cracking in the mounting area can lead to wheel loss. A separate risk is service replacements: some vehicles might have received the same components during repairs.
Owners will be notified after June 20 and invited to service centers. The front and rear brake discs, hubs, and nuts will be replaced with reinforced versions. All work will be performed free of charge.
