Geely successfully started a new chapter in its racing program. At the FIA TCR World Tour event in Valencia, Spain, the Geely Cyan Racing team took first and second places, and the new racing version of the Preface sedan confirmed its competitiveness on an international level for the first time.
For the Chinese manufacturer, this project is of particular importance. Previously, the factory program was built around the Lynk & Co 03 TCR model, but now Geely has decided to promote its own brand on the world stage. The team's new weapon was the Geely Preface TCR, created in collaboration with the Swedish division of Cyan Racing.
At the Valencia stage, Frenchman Yann Ehrlacher won the first pole position for Geely in the championship's history, and the team completely took the first three places in qualifying. In the race, Geely Cyan Racing secured a winning double, confirming the high potential of the new platform during its debut European performance.
The basis for the racing car was the production Geely Preface – a sedan that has been sold in China since 2020. For automakers, participation in TCR remains one of the most effective ways to demonstrate the reliability of the chassis, engine, and aerodynamics in extreme conditions.
For Geely, success is important not only from a sporting point of view. The company openly states that it views international motorsport as a tool to promote its technologies and strengthen brand awareness in the global market. If the results of the Preface TCR are maintained throughout the season, the racing program could become one of the most notable marketing projects of the Chinese automotive industry in 2026.
