Geely is preparing to introduce the new Emgrand i-HEV hybrid sedan. The official launch of the model is scheduled for June 16, and it will be the next step in the development of one of the brand's most popular passenger car lines.

The new model is built on the BMA Evo platform and is aimed at buyers looking for an alternative to traditional gasoline sedans without switching to fully electric vehicles. Externally, the car retains the recognizable silhouette of the Emgrand family, but has received an updated design and modern hybrid architecture.

The main feature of the model is the new EM-i power plant. It includes a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a thermal efficiency of 48.41%. According to Geely, this is one of the best indicators among production cars. However, something else is more important for buyers: the manufacturer claims an average fuel consumption of only 2.22 liters per 100 kilometers.

The bet on the Emgrand i-HEV seems timely. In China, hybrids continue to rapidly gain popularity, especially in the mass segment, where buyers are increasingly choosing low fuel consumption instead of high power. For Geely, the new model could become one of the key tools in the fight against BYD, Chery, and other manufacturers actively expanding their lines of affordable hybrids.

Emgrand remains one of the brand's most mass-produced models. Therefore, the introduction of new hybrid technology specifically in this sedan shows that Geely intends to make economical power plants available not only for expensive flagships, but also for a wide audience.
