Xiaomi Prepares Response to Li Auto: New Xuntian N90 SUV to Feature Over 1500 km Range and Rooftop Tent

The company is creating the Sky Nomad brand for car travel enthusiasts

Xiaomi is preparing to expand its automotive lineup with a new brand, Sky Nomad. Spy photos of the brand's first model, the full-size N90 SUV, which will be the company's largest vehicle and the first Xiaomi with an extended range (EREV), have become available to Chinese media.

The name of the new brand, Sky Nomad ("Xun Tian"), can be translated as "aspiring to the sky" or "seeking the heavens." Judging by the first images, travel and outdoor recreation will be the main idea of the project.

One of the most unusual features of the N90 will be its integrated rooftop tent. The published images show an integrated structure with a mosquito net, transforming the car's roof into a full-fledged sleeping area. This way, Xiaomi intends to enter the rapidly growing market of "glamping" – comfortable car tourism, which is gaining popularity in China.

According to preliminary data, the SUV will receive a 1.5-liter turbo engine operating as a generator and a traction battery with a capacity of more than 70 kWh. On electric power alone, the car will be able to travel from 400 to 500 kilometers according to the Chinese test cycle, and the total range will exceed 1500 kilometers.

The equipment will also include a dual-motor all-wheel drive, air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and a lidar on the roof for modern driver assistance systems.

In terms of size, the N90 will be Xiaomi's largest model. The car's length will exceed 5.3 meters, and the wheelbase will be about 3.1 meters. Both five-seater and seven-seater versions will be released to the market.

The official premiere of the Sky Nomad N90 is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of the flagship SUV will range from 200,000 to 450,000 yuan (from 2.2 to 4.9 million rubles).
