Italian design studio Italdesign presented the Honda NSX Tribute project – a modern interpretation of the iconic sports car, inspired by two generations of the NSX. The premiere took place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the car was first shown to the public live.
Unlike most restomods, engineers did not interfere with the car's design. All changes affected only the exterior and interior. According to the authors' idea, the project should combine the design of the first NSX with the more modern forms of the hybrid second generation.
The car received a completely redesigned body with wider fenders, a lower silhouette, an enlarged rear section, an integrated spoiler, and a roof-mounted air intake. Carbon splitters, side skirts, a diffuser, a full-width LED strip at the rear, and four exhaust pipes complete the look. The interior retained the architecture of the production model but received Alcantara trim, carbon decor, and signature NSX Tribute elements.
The technical part remained unchanged. Under the hood is a standard hybrid powertrain based on a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine and three electric motors. The combined output is 573 hp, and all-wheel drive is implemented through Honda's proprietary SH-AWD hybrid system.
Italdesign emphasizes that it will release only a limited series of such cars. The exact circulation and cost have not yet been disclosed. However, the conversion will only be available for right-hand drive second-generation Honda NSX models, which will make the project even rarer among collectors.
