BYD has announced a large-scale recruitment campaign for its production facility in the Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone. The manufacturer needs over 9,000 employees to work at its vehicle and component manufacturing plants.

New employees will be hired at the Xiaomo plant, where vehicles are assembled, and at the Ebu plant, which produces components. The company is looking for production line operators, technical specialists, quality inspectors, and management personnel.

The majority of vacancies are in production units. For example, BYD's 11th unit in Xiaomo Park plans to hire 4,800 employees, including specialists in sheet metal processing, interior upholstery, and warehouse logistics.

Another 1,200 vacancies are open in Xiaomo's 15th unit, where assembly line operators, welders, and foam specialists are required. Additionally, the 15th unit at the Ebu site is recruiting 2,000 workers, including equipment operators, adjusters, and welders.

The staff expansion is linked to BYD's continued growth in overseas sales. By the end of 2025, the company sold 1.05 million passenger cars and pickups outside China, a 145% increase over the previous year.

In the first half of 2026, overseas deliveries reached approximately 789.4 thousand vehicles, an increase of another 70% year-on-year. BYD expects to increase exports to 1.5 million vehicles by the end of the year.

In parallel, the company continues to localize production outside China. In Brazil, BYD's plant recently produced its 100,000th new energy vehicle, and the plant's staff has exceeded 5,500 people. In Hungary, construction of the first European BYD passenger car plant is ongoing, and the plant in Rayong, Thailand, is already producing five models: BYD Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal 5 DM-i, Sealion 5 DM-i, and Sealion 6 DM-i.
