Chrysler unexpectedly decided to combat the main drawback of minivans — the image of boring family cars. At the Roadkill Nights event in Michigan, the company showcased two custom concepts based on the 2027 Pacifica model year.
The first is based on the Pacifica Limited AWD with the S Appearance package. The minivan received 21-inch wheels, Pirelli P Zero sports tires, black brake calipers, and a suspension lowered by 1 inch. Mopar stripes and red seat belts complete the look.
The second concept turned out to be even more radical. An aerodynamic body kit was developed for it, featuring a new front splitter, side skirts, a diffuser, and a large spoiler. The body received a matte protective film, and the standard suspension height was reduced.
It is noteworthy that Chrysler is not just trying to attract attention with spectacular show cars. According to the company, approximately one-third of Pacifica buyers already choose the S Appearance package. At the same time, the number of minivan buyers from the Millennials and Gen Z generations has increased by 143% over the past ten years.
This changes the approach to the segment. Buyers need not only a spacious interior with sliding doors but also a car that doesn't look like a compromise.
However, the serial production of the shown versions has not yet been announced. But the Pacifica itself retains practical technologies: all-wheel drive, seven seats, and the Stow ’n Go seating system.
