In Russia, during the 36th week of the year, from August 31 to September 6, just over 30 thousand new passenger cars were registered. This is 6.1% more than the previous week's result, when about 28.3 thousand cars were sold. Year-on-year growth was almost 4%.

Commercial vehicles also showed weekly upward dynamics. Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) reached 1,486 units — 14% more than a week earlier. However, compared to the same period last year, the market still fell by 16.2%.

In the truck segment, 970 vehicles were registered. This is 9.2% more than the previous week and 0.7% higher than the result a year ago.

At the same time, the calendar factor significantly affects the statistics. The past week captured the last days of August, when dealers traditionally strive to close monthly plans and register cars handed over to customers at the end of the month.

Therefore, it is too early to consider the current result as the beginning of an autumn recovery. If growth continues for another 2-3 weeks, it will be possible to talk about a more sustainable change in demand. For now, statistics only show a short-term acceleration.
