The first batches of BYD Sealion 08 have begun shipping from the company's Jinan plant. Thus, after its September sales launch, the model is transitioning from demonstration vehicles and orders to full-scale deliveries to customers nationwide.
The Sealion 08 is offered with two types of powertrains – a DM-i hybrid and a fully electric one. A total of eight trim levels are available, with prices in China starting from 229,900 yuan (approximately 2.9 million rubles). The crossover is available with five or six seats.
Electric versions received batteries with capacities of 92.1 and 115.1 kWh. Depending on the modification, the declared range reaches 800 or 900 km according to CLTC. The power of single-motor versions is up to 496 hp, and the dual-motor version is up to 784 hp.
The hybrid Sealion 08 uses the fifth generation of the DM system. It claims up to 400 km of electric range according to CLTC and a total range of up to 1650 km. Both versions received second-generation Blade Batteries.
In addition to the powertrain, the flagship received adaptive air suspension DiSus-A, rear-wheel steering, and the God's Eye B driver assistance system with lidar. At the start of sales, BYD reported over 12,000 orders in the first 24 hours.
