McLaren is preparing to discontinue all three main models of its current lineup. Production of the GTS will end in 2027, the Artura in 2028, and the 750S is also nearing the end of its life cycle.
The GTS will be the first to go – a two-seater mid-engine grand tourer with a 4.0-liter V8. The model appeared in 2019 as the GT, and in 2023, it received a new name, increasing its power to 635 hp. It accounts for about 10% of McLaren's production – approximately 300 cars per year.
Then, in 2028, production of the Artura will cease. This is the first production McLaren with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and carbon fiber architecture. The car is equipped with a V6 and an electric motor; after updates, its output reached 700 hp.
The 750S uses a platform dating back to the 2017 720S. The final version of the family was the limited 788HS with 777 hp and a production run of only 200 cars. McLaren calls it the last evolution of this architecture.
Earlier, motoram.ru reported that the company is already developing its own hybrid powertrains and a new SUV. However, there are no officially confirmed direct successors to the GTS, Artura, and 750S yet. This is why the next two years will not just be a model change for McLaren, but a complete restructuring of the cars' technical foundation.
