General Motors is recalling 29,347 Cadillac Optiq 2025–2027 model years due to a software error in the front power window control system. When using the automatic window closing function with the key fob, the glass may, in some cases, not detect an obstacle and continue to move upwards.

The problem specifically concerns the express-up mode, where the window closes automatically with a single press. If a hand or other object is in the path of the glass, the system should detect resistance, stop the glass, and lower it back down. On affected vehicles, this function may not work correctly in the last 13 mm of travel.
The cause is related to the software calibration of the body control module. GM does not require replacement of mechanical parts: the solution is to update the BCM software. For vehicles with OTA support, the update can be installed remotely; owners of other cars will be offered a free update at the dealer.
