10 Rarest Cars from "Fast & Furious": From Daytona to Koenigsegg

Rare cars, with a circulation of less than a thousand copies, that have become legends on screen and in real life

Perhaps only the lazy didn't laugh at the unrealistic nature of "Fast & Furious." Jokes about Dominic Toretto and company one day going to space eventually materialized in the ninth installment. And while the franchise is now moving further away from street racing towards a blockbuster about "family," its heart remains cars. In particular, the rarest models, of which there are fewer than a thousand in the world.

We suggest recalling the ten most unique cars that have appeared in the legendary film series.

10. 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona

Appears in "Fast & Furious 6"

After failures on the NASCAR tracks, Dodge created a special version of the Charger - the 1969 Daytona. A huge anti-wing and a "nose" with an aerodynamic fairing made it not only recognizable but also fast. Only 503 copies were assembled - today it is a real collector's rarity.

Dom Toretto gets behind the wheel of the Daytona in "Fast & Furious 6" during a street race with Letty and the episode with the tank in Spain. Seven modified cars were built for filming, but, according to Hot Rod, only three and a half survived the film's production.

9. 2011 Lexus LFA

Appears in "Fast & Furious 5"

The LFA is a masterpiece from Lexus, which debuted in 2010. Its body is 65% carbon fiber, which allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and reach a speed of 325 km/h. Production was limited to 500 units: the complex customization of each car made the process too expensive.

In the film, this Japanese supercar appears at the very end of "Fast & Furious 5," when Han and Gisele are speeding down the highway - the scene is short but spectacular. It is noteworthy that a real LFA was used in the shot, not a replica.

8. 2011 Bugatti Veyron

Appears in "Fast & Furious 7"

The Bugatti Veyron is synonymous with luxury and speed. Its 16-cylinder engine allows it to reach 407 km/h and accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Between 2005 and 2011, the company released only 252 cars.

In the film "Fast & Furious 7," a white Veyron flashes in a scene in Abu Dhabi when Roman drives through the desert. There is not much screen time, but the luxury of the Bugatti speaks for itself.

7. 1965 Ford GT40

Appears in "Fast & Furious 5"

The GT40 is a legend of Le Mans. Four consecutive victories in the famous race made it an icon of American motorsport. Only 105 cars were built, including versions for ordinary roads.

In "Fast & Furious 5," the blue GT40 becomes part of a train robbery. Dom orders Mia to drive the car to a shelter, which triggers a chain of events with disasters, fights, and spectacular stunts.

6. Local Motors Rally Fighter

Appears in "Fast & Furious 8"

The Rally Fighter is a unique off-road buggy created through crowdsourcing. Its development became an example of an "open source car." There is no exact data on the number of cars, but it is estimated that no more than a hundred were produced.

In "Fast & Furious 8," Letty uses this rugged SUV to escape from a submarine during the final scene. The car survived the filming, but did not appear in subsequent installments.

5. Ferrari FXX

Appears in "Fast & Furious 6"

The Ferrari FXX is an elite version of the Ferrari Enzo, created exclusively for tracks and a limited circle of customers. Only 29 copies were produced at a cost of about $1.5 million. The last one went to Michael Schumacher.

In the film, the red and white FXX appears at the beginning of "Fast & Furious 6" in Tej Parker's garage. However, this is not a real FXX, but a replica based on the Enzo - the original model turned out to be too rare.

4. Apollo Intensa Emozione (IE)

Appears in "Fast & Furious 9"

Based on the LaFerrari, the Apollo IE is a rare supercar, released in a limited edition of only ten copies. Acceleration to 100 km/h - 2.7 seconds, maximum speed - 335 km/h. The price is an impressive $2.67 million.

In "Fast & Furious 9," the Intensa Emozione can be seen at billionaire Otto's party. This is one of the few cases when a real IE was used in the film, provided by a collector.

3. W Motors Lykan HyperSport

Appears in "Fast & Furious 7"

The Lykan HyperSport is the first supercar created in the Middle East. The cost is $3.4 million, and the headlights are decorated with diamonds. Only seven cars were produced.

It is on the "Lykan" that Dom Toretto flies through three skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi - one of the most insane stunts in the entire franchise. Of course, the filming did not involve originals, but ten specially built replicas.

2. Eagle Speedster

Appears in "Fast & Furious 6"

The Eagle Speedster is a modern interpretation of the legendary Jaguar E-Type, assembled by hand to order. Only seven such cars have been created, each one unique.

In "Fast & Furious 6," the black Speedster appears in Tej Parker's garage as part of his collection. After that, the rarest Briton no longer appeared in the series.

1. Koenigsegg CCXR

Appears in "Fast & Furious 5"

The 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR is the pinnacle of automotive rarity. This hypercar is capable of running on E85 bioethanol, which made it the first "green" supercar in the world. Only four such cars were created.

In "Fast & Furious 5," we see Roman Pearce behind the wheel of the CCXR, who boasts:"Besides mine, there are only three such cars". And he is not exaggerating. Like many rare cars in the films, the Koenigsegg turned out to be a replica - the originals are too expensive to risk them on set.

The "Fast & Furious" series has long turned from stories about street racing into a large-scale movie attraction. But one thing remains unchanged - the love for cars. Even if the heroes break the laws of physics, they show the public the rarest specimens, of which there are only a few in the whole world.
