In the first half of 2025, the vast majority of Chinese cars sold in Russia turned out to be representatives of the SUV segment — 89.7% of all new cars. However, only 45% of them are equipped with all-wheel drive. The rest are front-wheel drive.
Cars with engines up to 1.5 liters are especially popular. Such engines are attractive due to their low fuel consumption and preferential taxation.
Other segments account for less than 10% of sales. The C-class leads among them (3.4%), followed by D-category cars (2.6%), pickups (2.2%), and an even smaller share for B-, E/F-classes and minivans — less than 1% each.
