In 2025, the average cost of a new car in Russia decreased to 3.12 million rubles, compared to 3.35 million rubles a year earlier.
This is the first price decrease in over 10 years, driven by significant discounts from Chinese and Russian automakers. However, the market remains in a difficult position: in the first half of 2025, new car sales fell by 27% compared to the same period in 2024.
The "Russian Automotive Dealers" Association predicts that about 1.3 million new cars will be sold in Russia in 2025. At the same time, 72% of the country's car fleet consists of cars older than 10 years. To update the fleet, it is necessary to sell about 3 million cars annually, which remains an unattainable goal so far.
Dealers also oppose the abolition of bonuses, believing that this will not solve the current problems of the car market. The situation is complicated by a decrease in demand and the need for further measures to stimulate sales.
