First Armored Zeekr Unveiled

Zeekr 001: From Speed to Bulletproof Protection

The Chinese electric car Zeekr 001, known for its high speed, is now available in an armored version. The first such car was spotted in Brazil, where high crime rates have made armored vehicles in demand.

Brazil leads in the number of civilian bulletproof cars, which has prompted manufacturers, including Toyota with its Corolla and Hilux, to create similar modifications.

The armored Zeekr 001 is equipped with reinforced panels, thick bulletproof windows, and a reinforced panoramic glass roof, and the undercarriage is supposedly protected against explosions for battery safety. The model is based on an 800-volt architecture with LFP or NMC batteries with a capacity of 95 or 100 kWh. Basic versions have a 416 hp engine on the rear axle, while all-wheel drive versions have an additional 362 hp motor on the front. The flagship FR version reaches 1248 hp and 1280 N•m of torque, accelerating to 100 km/h in 2.07 seconds.

The expansion of Zeekr into the South American markets, including the armored version of the 001, reflects the company's desire to strengthen its position among premium brands.
