The car, presented by the new Huawei Harmony Intelligent Driving division and the Maextro brand of ultra-luxury electric vehicles, as the first owners found out, contained a hidden feature - tires capable of self-repairing in the event of small through cuts. One of the owners spoke about this in a video review.
The wheel was pierced by a screw, but after its removal, the re-inflated tire did not let air through at the puncture site.
This technology involves a layer of polyurethane composite or high-viscosity polymer applied to the inside of the tire. If the tire is punctured, the sealant quickly compresses around the damaged area and, when the foreign object is removed, quickly fills the hole.
This type of tire has a much higher cost compared to ordinary Run-Flat tires and is only installed on cars costing from one million yuan.
