Zeekr has announced the start of pre-orders for the Zeekr 9X hybrid SUV, which will begin at the Chengdu Motor Show in late August 2025. During discussions with fans, the model's positioning, release dates, and future plans of the company were discussed. Prices have not yet been determined and will be announced later, and a fully electric version is not planned in the near future.
The Zeekr 9X is built on the new SEA-S (Haohan-S) modular platform with SEA Hybrid technology. The powertrain includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and three silicon carbide electric motors, providing a total power of 1030 kW (1381 hp).
The SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 240 km/h, maintaining stable acceleration regardless of battery charge with a deviation of only 0.2 seconds. The 70 kWh CATL Freevoy battery supports charging from 20% to 80% in 9 minutes thanks to a 900 V system with 6C current, providing a range of 380 km on electric power (CLTC) and a total range of over 1000 km.
The 2.0T engine demonstrates a thermal efficiency of over 46%, consuming 5-10% less fuel than typical 1.5T hybrid engines. Zeekr emphasizes its technical readiness to release an electric version if there is future demand.
The model is scheduled to be released in the Chinese market in the third quarter of 2025 after its presentation in Chengdu.
