The first live photos of the new Lada Iskra Cross, a cross-version of the budget model from AvtoVAZ, have appeared on major automotive classifieds. One of the Moscow dealers, "Torgmash", valued the car at 1.73 million rubles. The base sedan starts at 1.25 million rubles and already offers ESP, front airbags, rain and pressure sensors, as well as a remote central locking system. Mid-range versions are equipped with air conditioning, heated seats and a multimedia system with Yandex services, while the top-end Techno configuration includes a rear-view camera, cruise control and a full package of heating options.
The new model is positioned as an intermediate solution between Granta and Vesta and is offered in three body styles: sedan, station wagon and cross-station wagon. Under the hood are 1.6-liter gasoline engines with a capacity of 90 or 106 hp paired with a "mechanics", as well as a 106-horsepower version with an automatic transmission. So far, the model can only be seen in showrooms in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tolyatti; deliveries to other regions are scheduled for the coming weeks.
Despite the announced start of sales on July 20, the real availability of Iskra Cross in showrooms is limited. The reason is the slow pace of assembly: the plant produces about 500 cars per month. Many dealers have not yet received exhibition samples, and there is no opportunity to take a test drive at all. According to preliminary information, large-scale production will begin no earlier than 2026.
