Hyundai continues to actively expand its production facilities in the United States, focusing on localizing production and reducing dependence on imports. In addition to the Metaplant plant in Georgia, which is currently under construction but already producing Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9 electric vehicles, which is estimated at 10.8 billion euros, the company plans additional investments of 5.2 billion euros in a steel plant in Louisiana.
The strategy of such large-scale investments in the US economy is already bearing fruit for the South Korean automaker. In the first 6 months of 2025, Hyundai's sales growth in the US amounted to 11% with 469 thousand cars sold. A special increase is noted among electric vehicles, it amounted to 50%.
