The new «NEFAZ 5299-40-57» passenger bus from KamAZ has begun testing in Mordovia. Following the tests, the republic's leadership will decide on the purchase of a batch of buses.
The purpose of the tests is to evaluate the characteristics of this bus model under real operating conditions on city lines.
«NEFAZ 5299-40-57» is a city model with three entrance doors and a length of 12.4 m. The cabin has 29 seats, and the total capacity is 96 passengers.
The bus runs on compressed natural gas and is equipped with an automatic transmission. The bus's power unit is a Chinese WEICHAI engine, developing a power of 249 hp and meeting the Euro-5 environmental standard. The bus, which has a maximum weight of 18 tons, is capable of reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h.
