UAZ "Patriot", "Pickup" and "Profi" cars received a Russian antilock braking system. The active safety device was developed and put into serial production by specialists from NAMI Innovative Components.
Previously, the cars were equipped with a system from an eastern partner. The NAMI-ABS-450 system was developed for light commercial vehicles and SUVs weighing no more than 4.5 tons.
It prevents wheel lockup during sudden braking and eliminates the risk of spinning on roads with uneven surfaces.
The system analyzes data from wheel speed sensors in real time and, using advanced algorithms, regulates the pressure in each circuit of the braking system in such a way that the wheels are not blocked and the car remains controllable.
The system was tested for a year on surfaces with different types of traction, as well as in the event of split friction, when the coefficients of traction of the left and right wheels differ.
