Half of Russians Want to Drive an Electric Car

Less than 9% of respondents have a negative attitude towards electric vehicles

More than 50% of the Russians surveyed admitted that they want to drive electric cars. Less than 9% of respondents have a negative attitude towards electric cars, according to a survey conducted by the online service "VTB auto".

Almost half of the Russians surveyed believe that the future lies with electric cars, and another 46% said that the technology will become widespread.

At the same time, 33% believe that it is too early to introduce electric vehicles in the current state of infrastructure and technology development.

Another 9% of respondents allowed for the occasional use of electric vehicles, and 12% expressed confidence that they would not take root in Russia at all.

The survey of respondents was conducted on August 22-28, 2025 among 1.5 thousand Russians aged 18-65 years in cities with a population of 100 thousand people or more.
