The 36th week (from September 1 to 7) of sales in the Russian car market turned out to be slightly worse than the 35th in terms of the number of vehicles sold, which, considering that the 35th week was a record in sales, is a very good result. For comparison, 34.1 thousand units of new equipment were sold in the 35th week, while 32.9 thousand were sold in the 36th week, the difference was only 3%.
In total, more than 28.9 passenger cars were sold during the week, which became the third result this year in terms of weekly volumes. The volume of LCVs sold in the 36th week was the best in the last 9 weeks.
Compared to the same week last year, all segments showed a decline, except for motorcycles. Their sales volume unexpectedly increased by 31% (from 834 to 1,091 units). Sales of passenger cars fell by 24% (from 38,115 to 28,930 units), light commercial vehicles - by 22% (from 2,272 to 1,773 units), buses - by 41% (from 299 to 176 units), and truck sales fell the most - by 60% (from 2,395 to 963 units).
