BMW is not planning to completely abandon internal combustion engines (ICE), despite the development of the Neue Klasse line of electric vehicles. Board member Jochen Goller emphasized that ICEs will remain in production, as the technology continues to improve and meet strict environmental standards, including the future Euro-7.
The company strives for a balanced approach: by 2030, BMW expects to achieve an equal distribution of sales between ICE vehicles and electric vehicles. This emphasizes that gasoline and diesel models will retain a significant share in the brand's business even after the active introduction of electric vehicles to the market.
Against the backdrop of the European Union's plans to ban the production of new ICE vehicles from 2035, BMW's position looks flexible. The final details of the EU directive have not yet been approved, which leaves room for adaptation. The company continues to invest in the development of both technologies to meet demand and comply with environmental requirements.
