Sales of the Volkswagen Golf 2026 have started in China, and the price is pleasantly surprising: from 129.9 to 158.9 thousand yuan (15.5–19 thousand euros) for one of the three trim levels — 300TSI, 300TSI Pro, or 300TSI R-Line. For comparison, in Germany, the base version costs 29.4 thousand euros, which is almost twice as expensive. In addition to the affordable price, the Chinese version of the Golf received physical buttons on the steering wheel instead of touch-sensitive ones, which was a pleasant surprise for fans of classic controls.
The car's design remained the same compared to the 2025 model, with dimensions of 4282 × 1788 × 1479 mm and a wheelbase of 2631 mm. New headrests, a remote engine start function, and improved ambient lighting (30 colors instead of 10) have appeared in the 300TSI Pro version. However, the center airbag is now optional. In the top-end 300TSI R-Line, the steering wheel is trimmed with microfiber instead of leather, remote parking and Bluetooth key functions have been added, and the wireless charging power has been increased to 40 W.
The technical part remains unchanged: under the hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 160 hp, working with a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two "dry" clutches.
