Chinese manufacturer BYD has expanded its Qin Plus mid-size sedan lineup by introducing the Progressive version to the domestic market. The model is offered in hybrid and all-electric variants and is aimed at economical drivers interested in long ranges.
The price of the base configuration starts at $9,300, making the car attractive to the mass market segment. The hybrid powertrain combines a gasoline engine and an electric motor, providing a range of up to 2,055 km on a full tank of fuel, including 128 km on pure electricity. The electric version is equipped with a battery providing 420 or 510 km of range, and its motor produces up to 136 hp.
The dimensions of the models differ minimally: the hybrid version measures 4780 × 1837 × 1515 mm, the electric version - 4795 × 1837 × 1515 mm. The suspension is unified - front McPherson struts, rear multi-link, which provides a balance of comfort and handling. The interior features a digital instrument panel with an 8.8-inch screen and a multimedia system with a 12.8-inch display. Standard equipment includes cruise control, climate control and other systems for everyday use.
