Kia has officially confirmed that production of the compact Soul crossover is coming to an end - the model will cease production in October 2025. After that, the car will not receive a version for the 2026 model year, and buyers will only have cars from dealer inventories available. Thus, one of the most recognizable urban crossovers of the brand leaves the market almost two decades after its debut.
The Soul, which appeared in 2008, became a symbol of youthful style and practicality for Kia. Its unusual design with straight lines and a “boxy” silhouette stood out from the competition, and the high seating position and spacious interior made the model convenient for everyday trips. The Soul successfully competed with cars such as the Nissan Cube and Scion xB, but unlike them, it managed to stay on the market much longer.
Over the years of production, the crossover has been updated several times, but retained its signature character. However, in the era of Kia's transition to electric vehicles and hybrids, the model has no prospects. The Soul did not receive a modern electric version and gave way to new representatives of the electric vehicle line.
