In the first nine months of 2025, 32.9 thousand new heavy-duty trucks with a gross weight of over 16 tons were sold in Russia, which is 57.4% less than in the same period last year. This was reported by industry analyst Sergei Tselikov.
According to him, the market started to decline in November 2024. The minimum sales value was recorded in May (2.7 thousand units). Subsequently, it slightly recovered the fall, but continues to balance for the third month in a row at the level of 3.5–3.6 thousand units.
In the first 9 months, 68% of the sales volume came from vehicles manufactured in 2023–2024. This is the result of huge stocks with which the market entered this year.
The analyst clarified that the most dismal situation is in the segments of tractors and dump trucks, which "sagged" by 64–71%. Similar indicators are observed for Chinese brands, for example, Shacman sales decreased by 70%, while Sitrak and FAW sales decreased by 68%.
The leader in the new heavy-duty truck market for the reporting period was KamAZ, whose share amounted to 30% (9.9 thousand units; –17%).
