On Wednesday, October 8, a serious failure occurred on the electronic PTS website in Russia. Car owners across Russia complained about the problems.
A Baza source noted that all documents issued after September 18 were suddenly canceled. Some users simply cannot access the site, and there are failures in determining geolocation.
The support service said that they are already working to eliminate the cause of the failures, but do not specify specific deadlines.
As a result, hundreds of Russians who wanted to register their cars with the traffic police on this day found themselves in a dead end. Due to the cancellation of the electronic PTS, the appointment for car registration has to be postponed to a later date or canceled.
The failure is likely related to the expected increase in the recycling fee. The fact is that Russians began to massively order cars from abroad in order to register them at a preferential price.
The flow turned out to be so great that the parking lots were full, and queues formed for registration. And, of course, the load on the database has seriously increased.
