In the nine months of 2025, Russian car factories produced 695 thousand passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, buses and trucks. This is 12% less than in the same period last year, said Sergey Tselikov, director of the Avtostat analytical agency.
According to him, in the passenger car segment, the decline was only 2% (to 567.9 thousand units). At the same time, production due to the assembly of Chinese models in the country and the opening of new production facilities remained at the level of 2024. The domestic car market decreased by 22.4% during this period.
The situation is more complicated in the commercial vehicle segment. The market has more than halved, which has led to a significant decrease in imports and a reduction in production volumes.
In the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, production decreased by 33% to 74.2 thousand units. The production of medium-duty trucks decreased by 60% (to 14.3 thousand units), and heavy-duty trucks - by 38% (to 30.7 thousand units). Bus production lost 30% of last year's volume (8 thousand units).
