Russians will no longer be fined for the absence of compulsory motor insurance more than once a day

The State Duma Committee approved a law on the frequency of punishment for driving without a policy

The State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation recommended adopting in the first reading a bill that prohibits repeated fines within 24 hours for driving without compulsory motor insurance. This was announced by the chairman of the lower house of parliament's committee on the financial market, Anatoly Aksakov.

Currently, driving a car without a valid compulsory motor insurance policy carries a fine of 800 rubles, and for a repeated violation — from 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles.

A fine for driving without an insurance policy will be issued no more than once a day.

The parliamentarian added that motorists could be at risk of huge financial penalties if they drive without insurance under a dozen cameras in a day.
