AvtoVAZ has published detailed recommendations on the choice of fuel for Lada cars, finally clarifying the question of which gasoline is best suited.
For Lada Granta models with a 16-valve engine, the factory recommends using AI-95 gasoline. This engine is designed for a higher octane number, and the use of AI-92 can cause detonation, loss of power and increased fuel consumption. At the same time, 8-valve versions of Granta can safely run on AI-92 without risk to the engine.
Lada Vesta is also best filled with AI-95 gasoline, although in emergency cases the use of AI-92 is allowed. At the same time, the manufacturer emphasizes that low-octane fuel does not lead to savings, but on the contrary, increases consumption and worsens dynamics.
Gasoline with an octane number higher than 98, according to AvtoVAZ, does not provide tangible advantages. In the cold season, the factory recommends choosing seasonal fuel with increased volatility for easier starting. The main rule remains unchanged: use only the gasoline that is specified in the car's manual, since the durability and stable operation of the engine depends on this.
