Japanese automaker Mazda became the first of the foreign companies to lose the opportunity to exercise the option to buy back its assets in Russia. This was reported by Reuters, citing the Sollers Group.
The reason for losing the right to buy back the assets is the expiration of the statute of limitations of the agreement that Mazda concluded when leaving the Russian market. As a reminder, the Japanese company's share was sold to a partner - Sollers.
The Sollers Group has not received any offers or requests from Mazda regarding the implementation of the option, and in the current environment we do not see the need for it.
Mazda-Sollers was engaged in the production of Mazda passenger cars in Vladivostok. Now the car factory produces buses under the Sollers brand.
Earlier motoram.ru reported that a Lada car dealership closed in St. Petersburg - the first time in six years.
