Ahead of its official debut on December 8, Mercedes-Benz has virtually revealed the new generation GLB. The crossover will succeed two models at once — the current GLB and the electric EQB, as the brand's updated lineup will divide mild-hybrid versions and electric vehicles on a common architecture.
The images show a redesigned design with softer lines and improved aerodynamics, as well as unusual taillights lowered down the sides — a solution not previously used in the brand's models.
The GLB switches to the same platform as the new CLA, so electric versions with 58 and 85 kWh batteries will appear in the range. The CLA has a claimed range of 777 km, but the larger GLB is predicted to have up to 600 km for older modifications. In parallel, a line of mild hybrids with a capacity of 156, 184 and 211 hp will be offered. As before, the model will be available in five-seater and seven-seater configurations.
Thanks to a combination of aero-oriented design and an expanded range of power plants, the new GLB has already attracted the attention of the markets and has become one of the most anticipated premieres.
