A member of the Federation Council Committee, Ayrat Gibatdinov, proposed resuming full-scale production of the UAZ-469 car, popularly known as the "Bobik." According to him, the car is very easy to repair, even in the field.
A separate advantage of the car is its tent structure, the senator specified. The tent can be removed in minutes, creating an open body.
I consider it necessary to resume full-scale production of the UAZ-469 - our reliable "Bobiks." These cars have been tested since Soviet times. They are mobile and maneuverable. The simplicity of the design, inexpensive production, and the possibility of repair in the field have a special advantage.
Currently, an analogue of the "Bobik" is being produced - the UAZ "Hunter," but these cars are produced in very small batches, Gibatdinov added.
