The updated Volkswagen Magotan of the 2026 model year has been introduced in China, a key competitor to the Toyota Camry in the large sedan segment. The new model is available in five versions, priced from 180,000 to 247,000 yuan (approximately 2.0-2.75 million rubles). The design has not changed, but the car has received a significant update to its electronics and assistance systems. The Volkswagen Magotan of the 2026 model year is a key competitor to the Toyota Camry in the large sedan segment.
The main innovation is the improved IQ.Pilot autonomous driving system. Its functions have been expanded: now the autopilot supports high-speed cruise control with automatic entry and exit from interchanges, overtaking, and lane changes. In urban environments, the Magotan has learned to recognize traffic light signals, perform smooth stops and starts, bypass construction zones, and avoid intersections with cross-traffic.
The multimedia system has received dynamic lighting, improved visualization of assistants, an advanced voice assistant, and support for large language models. There is an updated Bluetooth key, a powerful 40-watt wireless charger, remote control of power windows and climate control. And the touch buttons on the steering wheel have been replaced with physical ones - microfiber is now used in the trim.
The technical part remains unchanged: the 300TSI and 380TSI versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter 160 hp engine and a 2.0-liter 220 hp engine, both with a 7-speed robotic transmission ("dry" or "wet").
