GAC S7 Prepares to Enter the Russian Market

Hybrid Crossover Receives OTTS and Approaches Sales Launch

The GAC S7 hybrid crossover has officially passed certification in Russia, receiving Vehicle Type Approval. This was reported by AvtoPotok. Back in October, the model completed the EAEU declaration of conformity, which was the final step before issuing the OTTS and opens the way for the start of sales in the country.

The S7 is a large all-wheel drive hybrid: its dimensions reach 4,900 x 1,950 x 1,780 mm with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. The car is equipped with a 160-horsepower turbo engine and two electric motors - 231 and 109 hp. The peak total output of the system is 501 hp, and the range exceeds 1,000 kilometers. On electric traction alone, the crossover is capable of traveling up to 150 km. The suspension is fully independent: MacPherson struts at the front, multi-link at the rear.

The interior is equipped with an 8.88-inch instrument display and a 15.6-inch central screen based on the Snapdragon 8295 chip. There are 12 speakers, wireless charging, leather seats with ventilation, heating and massage, as well as second-row seats that recline to 137 degrees. The L2++ level assistant system makes driving significantly more autonomous. GAC previously confirmed plans to bring the S7 to Russia, and certification indicates the imminent appearance of the new product on sale.
