The Chinese automotive industry is approaching the end of the year with its strongest export pace in history. According to estimates from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, overseas shipments in 2025 will exceed 6.8 million vehicles — almost a million more than in 2024. The upward trend became noticeable after ten months, when exports reached 5.62 million units, an increase of about 16%.
Domestic demand also remains consistently high: total sales in China this year may exceed 34 million vehicles, with about 16 million accounted for by the new energy vehicle segment. Production for January–October grew to 27.7 million vehicles, highlighting the scale of the domestic industry and its ability to support the growing export flow.
According to analysts, the rapid growth in overseas sales is ensured by the expansion of distribution networks, the strengthening of supply chains, and the continued global demand for Chinese electric vehicles and hybrids. If the CAAM forecast is confirmed, China will, for the second year in a row, solidify its status as the world's largest exporter of automobiles, approaching the mark of 7 million vehicles shipped.
