BMW has officially approved Milan Nedeljković as the new CEO, entrusting him with the management of the brand's largest investment project — the launch of the Neue Klasse family. The first orders for the electric iX3 have already exceeded expectations, and it is Nedeljković who will have to bring this line to global volumes.
Nedeljković comes from the former Yugoslavia, studied mechanical engineering in Aachen and MIT, and then received a doctorate in Munich. In the company, he went from being the head of production of the first production electric vehicle BMW i3 to managing key plants in Oxford, Regensburg and Leipzig.
Prior to his appointment, he headed the Munich flagship plant, where he oversaw the production of hybrid models. Now he has to form a strategy for the development of BMW in the era of electrification and prove that Neue Klasse will become as much of a turning point for the brand as the i3 was ten years ago.
