The Russian car market will be able to fully load the capacity of AvtoVAZ only with sales of 2-2.2 million cars per year. This was announced by the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov.
According to him, it is this level of demand that will allow the use of production sites in Tolyatti, Izhevsk and a reserve plant in St. Petersburg without downtime and overloads.
If we take the company's historical share of 25-30%, then the entire market should not exceed 2-2.2 million cars per year. I think we can come to this beyond 2030.
Sokolov clarified that AvtoVAZ plans to produce at least 400 thousand cars in 2026, and the new Lada Iskra and Lada Azimut models will "take a worthy place in the market." However, sales dynamics will depend on the key rate and government support for demand.
The company is now able to produce600-650 thousand cars per year in a comfortable two-shift mode, the head of AvtoVAZ concluded.
