An incident involving a Xiaomi SU7 Max electric vehicle occurred in China. According to local media, on the afternoon of December 15, the car hit a pedestrian while reversing in the Xiaomi delivery center in Hangzhou. The victim was hospitalized, and the traffic police officially confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
In the evening of the same day, a source inside Xiaomi told reporters that the car was under full manual control. According to the company, the driver confused the pedals in a narrow passage and pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. Eyewitnesses claim that the SU7 initially moved slowly, but then accelerated sharply, after which it hit a person from behind with its left front wheel. Before the ambulance arrived, eyewitnesses provided first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The victim turned out to be an employee of the service company Zhongsheng Automotive Maintenance Service.
